About this retreat

This 8-day, 7-night rejuvenation programme is at Rockholm at the Lighthouse Beach in Kovalam, Trivandrum, Kerala, by the Arabian Sea. It brings together Kerala-style Ayurvedic massage and therapies, yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic vegetarian meals. An Ayurvedic doctor assesses each guest and plans the therapies around the body constitution (dosha). Each day includes one therapy session of about 1 hour 45 minutes, made up of two or three therapies, plus a doctor's review, yoga and meditation. The schedule names abhyanga, shirodhara, kizhi, njavarakizhi and udwarthanam, followed by a herbal steam bath. Evenings include a nature or beach walk, yoga and a mindfulness session. Guests with health conditions should speak with their doctor and the centre first.

Itinerary

  1. Daily schedule

    Herbal drink at 6:00 AM, meditation and pranayama, yoga, then breakfast at 8:00 AM. A doctor's review at 9:00 AM and a personal Ayurvedic therapy at 9:30 AM, followed by a herbal steam bath and herbal bath. Lunch at 12:30 PM and rest. A nature or beach walk at 4:00 PM, evening yoga, guided meditation and mindfulness, dinner at 7:00 PM, and quiet time. Sleep at 9:00 PM.
