A guided visit to the major temples of Ayodhya, led by a Tirth Purohit.
Ayodhya lies on the banks of the Saryu River in Uttar Pradesh and is one of the Sapta Moksha Puris, the seven sacred cities said to grant moksha. It is regarded as the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. With the Shri Ram Mandir, it has become a major centre of Ram bhakti. This yatra covers the main temples and sacred places of the city, among them Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Dasharth Mahal, Kanak Bhavan, Hanuman Garhi, Kale Ram Temple and Nageshwar Nath Temple. Each is tied to the life of Lord Ram and the Ramayana. Pilgrims can also attend the Saryu Aarti. A pujari explains the rituals and meaning of each place and helps with temple timings, which suits first-time visitors, families and senior citizens. Please note that this is the regular darshan and not a V.I.P. service. No puja services are part of it. The Tirth Purohit only helps with darshan at the Ram Mandir and the other temples.
The yatra gives devotees an organised introduction to the temples of Ayodhya. It is seen as a source of spiritual upliftment. Devotees take the blessings of the deities at each temple.
To see the places comfortably, plan for about 3 to 4 hours. MargKGB confirms the exact time when you book.
The yatra visits Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhavan, Dashrath Mahal, Nageshwar Nath Temple and Kale Ram Temple, and ends with the Saryu Aarti.
