Atlaxman mandir near saryu river ayodhya

About this puja
The annual Parvan (Varshik) Shradh in Ayodhya near the Saryu, with six pindas and Vedic mantras for departed ancestors.
Parvan Shradh, also called Varshik Shradh, is the annual ritual for a family member who has passed away. It is an act of gratitude and remembrance in which the family prays for the peace, satisfaction and blessings of the Pitru Devatas. After the rites of the first year are completed, the yearly shradh is generally held in the Parvan Shradh form. In Ayodhya it is held at a mandir near the Saryu river. The priest takes the sankalp and invokes the ancestors. The pandit then prepares six pindas out of rice, barley flour, black sesame and ghee. Throughout the puja, Vedic mantras are recited, and the family prays that the departed soul finds peace and liberation.
Why devotees perform it
