About this puja
A Ketu Jaap in Ujjain where five pujaris chant 8,500 jaaps dedicated to the planet Ketu.
Ketu is one of the nine planets and is seen as a shadow planet. Ketu Jaap is a prayer offered to it. When Ketu is badly placed in a Kundali, its adverse effects are said to be felt in life. The planet is linked with spirituality, liberation and enlightenment, and chanting its mantra is believed to soften those effects and invite its blessings. The sankalp is taken first in the devotees' names. The pujari then invokes Lord Ganesh with mantras to clear hurdles from the puja. Five pujaris chant a total of 8,500 jaaps of Ketu.
