A 16,000-mantra Brihaspati (Jupiter) jaap by 10 Brahmins in Ujjain, with an optional Sudarshan Havan.
The Brihaspati Graha Mool Mantra Jaap, also called Brihaspati Puja, is a ritual for the planet Jupiter (Brihaspati). It is traditionally performed to support marital life and overall well-being. Devotees hold that, with a Sudarshan Havan to Lord Vishnu, it may help with an afflicted Jupiter, linked to indecision, relationship troubles and unclear thinking. The mantra is chanted 16,000 times, and in Ujjain 10 Brahmins do the chanting. Thursday, the day of Jupiter, is the usual day. Mokshada Ekadashi and Putrada Ekadashi are also chosen.
Devotees believe it eases the effects of a poorly placed Jupiter in the birth chart. It is traditionally performed for matters of marriage, decision-making and financial stability. It is said to bring clear thinking and harmony in relationships, along with prosperity. Devotees also see it as a support for a calm, clear mind and general well-being.
