at Shri Kale Ram Temple Ayodhya, Ayodhya
A one-day recitation of the Ram Charit Manas at the Kale Ram Temple.
The Ram Charit Manas was composed by Saint Tulsidas in the 16th century. It retells the Ramayana in Awadhi, for ordinary people, instead of Sanskrit. The poem is divided into several Kands, each covering a different stage of Lord Rama's life. The path is held at the Kale Ram Temple. A Sankalp is taken in the devotee's name. The pujari then invokes Lord Ram with prayers and mantras and begins reading the Ram Charit Manas, seeking Lord Ram's blessings.
Devotees believe it supports spiritual growth and devotion. It is said to bring mental peace and positive energy. It is traditionally seen as helping personal growth. Students also pray through it for better focus and concentration.
