Overview

Shree Shree Uma Shakti Peeth Temple stands near Radha Bagh in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. It is counted among the 51 Shakti Peethas and is one of the oldest temples in the area. The temple honours Goddess Parvati in her Katyayani form. Legend says her hair fell at this spot after Lord Vishnu divided her body into many pieces. Some devotees worship her here as Goddess Uma, so the shrine is also called Uma Shakti Peeth or Uma Devi Mandir. Pilgrims gather in large numbers every year to seek her blessings, especially during Navratri. Krishna Janmashtami is also celebrated here.
