History
Harsiddhi Mata temple stands near Rudra Sagar lake, about 500–600 metres from Mahakaleshwar. It is counted among the 51 Shakti Peeths, where the elbow of Mata Sati is believed to have fallen, and is called the Shakti of Mahakal. Known in ancient times as Mangal Chandika, Harsiddhi was the family goddess of Samrat Vikramaditya. Images of Annapurna, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati are also inside. Every evening hundreds of lamps are lit on the two tall deep stambhs at the entrance, and Navratri here is celebrated with great fervour.
