Overview

Sri Krishna-Balaram Mandir, widely called the ISKCON Temple, is one of Vrindavan's most important temples. It is in the Raman Reti area of Vrindavan, in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. The temple honours Shri Krishna and Shri Balaram, the divine brothers, on the land of their childhood. It is seen as the realisation of the dream of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON, and it carries the message of Krishna consciousness across the world.

Getting there By rail: Mathura railway station is the nearest, about 12 km away. Take an auto-rickshaw, taxi or bus. By air: Kheria Airport in Agra is the nearest, about 71.6 km away. Go on by taxi or car. By road: Vrindavan Bus Stand is 2.5 km from the temple. You can continue by auto-rickshaw or on foot. Best time to visit: Devotees visit Vrindavan through the year, apart from the hot summer months. Winter, from October to March, suits sightseeing best and is a lovely time to see the Yamuna.
