Havanatmak Chandi Path In Varanasi

About this puja

Recitation of the Durga Saptashati with a special havan, dedicated to Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati at Shree Durga Mata Mandir, Durgakund, Varanasi.

The Havanatmak Chandi Path is a Vedic ritual for Goddess Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati, the three forms of Adi Shakti. It joins a full recitation of the Durga Saptashati with a special havan. Devotees commonly perform it at Shree Durga Mata Mandir, Durgakund, Varanasi, to ask for protection, success, family happiness, well-being and peace. The puja opens with Gauri Ganesh Pujan so that the ritual may go without hurdles. Navagraha Pujan and Kalash Pujan follow. Next comes Shodashopachar Pujan of the three goddesses with traditional offerings and prayers. The main part is the Durga Saptashati (Chandi) Path, where the chapters are recited while offerings are made into the sacred fire. Devotees then receive the Mother's blessings.

Why devotees perform it

Devotees believe it draws the blessings of Maa Durga in her three forms. Traditionally performed to ask for protection from adversity and from negative or unseen obstacles. Said to support success, financial stability, courage and wisdom. Believed to bring harmony and happiness to the family, along with spiritual strength and inner peace.
